EMERGENCY MISSION IN TURKEY

Monday, February 6, 2023, a terrible earthquake hit Turkey.

In the hours that followed, a team of 11 SSF doctors, rescue workers and logisticians flew to Istanbul with 350 kg of medical equipment and arrived at 3 a.m. on Tuesday Feb 7th in Adıyaman, one of the cities hardest hit by the earthquake. They will be joined by 3 other doctors to form a team of 14 people.

They report a dramatic situation to us.

Freezing temperatures, thousands of people including babies are in the streets because they are forbidden to enter weakened buildings.

The needs are urgent to help the population: blankets, water, tents.

Our team has set up a field hospital, has two local ambulances at their disposal and has already treated over 220 seriously injured people.

During the first five days of our operation more than 3000 people were treated by our team, more than 150 tents were installed for families who were in the street, and three tons of humanitarian material were distributed.
